VICTORY, a cinematic project from Slick Rick and executive producer Idris Elba, will hit the big screen this August with two high-profile festival debuts. The film screens August 2 at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival and August 7 at the HollyShorts Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Directed by Meji Alabi, known for work with Beyoncé and Burna Boy, VICTORY blends imagination, resilience, and Slick Rick’s lyrical storytelling into a global visual journey spanning London, America, and Africa. After debuting at SXSW in London and Tribeca in New York, the film continues gaining momentum heading into awards season.
VICTORY first screened on Christmas Day 2024 at Rikers Island through the Victory Patch Foundation, led by Rick and his wife Mandy Aragones.
