Montell Jordan Reveals Cancer Detected Near Prostate, Begins Radiation

Montell Jordan has shared that cancer has been detected in the lymph nodes near his prostate, which was removed nearly a year ago after a stage 2 diagnosis. The 56-year-old singer told Today he will undergo radiation and hormone blockers, describing it as “a seven-and-a-half week interruption of life to make sure that I have a longer life.”

Jordan said he always thought he would share his story from “the other side” of cancer, but close to a year after surgery, additional treatment is still needed.

By going public, the “This Is How We Do It” artist hopes to reduce the stigma around prostate cancer, explaining, “Men don’t talk about it.”

In 2024, Jordan announced he had defeated cancer. Jordan states he had a prostatectomy surgery, revealing early detection saved his life.
