Ghostface Killah Tells Drake Brush Off “Culture Vulture” Talk And Lock In

It seems that most of the OGs in Hip-Hop tend to align with Drake. Just an observation. We know the 6God has been vocal about how specific critiques from the Hip Hop community get under his skin, especially when he is called a “culture vulture.” But according to Wu-Tang Clan legend Ghostface Killah, the best move is to ignore the noise and keep creating.

TMZ Hip Hop caught up with Ghostface outside ABC Studios on Thursday, September 4, while he was promoting his new project Supreme Clientele 2. The veteran MC laughed off Drake’s frustration and pointed out that there are far worse things an artist could be called. In his words, not every insult in the industry is worth taking to heart.

Drake has admitted that accusations of chasing trends hit him harder than other criticisms. Recently, he fired back at a handful of respected Hip Hop journalists. He even called Rob Markman a “goof” after Markman could not recall Lil Wayne’s “Cannon” lyrics when asked by Tory Lanez. Drake has also labeled certain reporters as “losers,” saying they act entitled to his time.

Markman later responded, defending the role of Hip Hop journalism. He stressed that journalists have a responsibility to cover the culture and should not be personally attacked for simply doing their jobs. He also stood up for peers who may have been unfairly singled out.

The back and forth reflects the ongoing friction between artists and the media. Drake continues to navigate constant scrutiny from fans and reporters, but Ghostface Killah’s words cut through with seasoned perspective. His advice was simple: let the chatter fade and focus on the craft that keeps the music alive.
