The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating after human remains were found inside an impounded Tesla registered to rising music star D4vd.
Officers were called to a tow yard on the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue in Hollywood around 12:30 p.m. Monday after a foul odor was reported coming from the vehicle. Police confirmed a body was discovered in the front trunk, sealed inside a bag.
According to KABC, authorities said the Tesla, registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, had been at the tow yard for several days. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and investigators have not confirmed any connection to the artist.
D4vd, 20, has quickly risen to fame through TikTok hits including “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” amassing more than 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 3.6 million TikTok followers. He released his debut album earlier this year and credits TikTok for helping launch his career.
The Houston-born musician is currently on his “Withered” world tour, with a scheduled performance in Minneapolis on Tuesday and a Los Angeles stop set for September 20.
