Mariah Carey is preparing to deliver a performance unlike any other when she headlines Amazônia Live – Today and Always on September 17. The global icon will take the stage on a floating platform set on the Guamá River in Belém, Brazil, with the lush Amazon Rainforest providing a dramatic backdrop.

The stage, inspired by the symbolic Victoria Amazonica plant, will host Carey’s set during sunset in what promises to be a historic cultural and environmental moment. The event follows her recent honor as the MTV Video Music Awards Vanguard recipient and continues a milestone-filled 2025 for the superstar.
Joining her on stage will be artists representing Pará’s vibrant culture, including Dona Onete, Joelma, Gaby Amarantos, and Zaynara. Beyond music, the concert highlights urgent global issues tied to the Amazon, aligning with Belém’s upcoming role as host city of COP30 this November. The initiative seeks to protect indigenous communities, restore degraded land, expand the bioeconomy, and combat carbon emissions.
Rock World, the creators of Rock in Rio and The Town, are producing the event, which will air as a national TV special in Brazil.
Local celebrations continue September 20 when Brazilian superstar Ivete Sangalo headlines a free concert at Mangueirão Stadium for 46,000 fans, joined by Viviane Batidão and the Lambateria Baile Show.
The entire Amazônia Live project, including Carey’s landmark rainforest performance, is being documented for a feature film to preserve the cultural and environmental significance of these shows.
