Lil Nas X is currently in inpatient treatment as he continues to rebound from his highly publicized arrest last month in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old Georgia-born rapper and singer, Montero Hill, was taken into custody on August 21 after being spotted walking around L.A. late at night, first in his underwear and cowboy boots, and eventually unclothed.

According to Rolling Stone, news of his treatment was revealed during a pre-trial hearing earlier today. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shellie Samuels confirmed that Nas X is allowed to remain out of state while he receives around-the-clock care. “Defendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment,” Judge Samuels said, noting that the terms could change if his treatment shifts to outpatient. She also scheduled his next court date for November.

The specific reasons for his inpatient care remain undisclosed, though his legal team emphasized the focus is on his health and stability. His attorney, Drew Findling, who is also working with Lil Durk in a separate case, spoke to reporters following the hearing. “You heard the ‘treatment’ word. We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being,” Findling said. He added, “He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. And we’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, and he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s going to get over.”

During last month’s incident, police arrived around 5:40 a.m. and ultimately subdued Nas X after he allegedly attacked three officers. He was charged with four felonies, including three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

He remained behind bars through that weekend before posting a $75,000 bond. Shortly after his release, he addressed his fans in an Instagram Story, assuring them that he would pull through despite the ordeal. “Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all,” he said. “OK? She’s gonna be all right. Sht. That was fcking terrifying… That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.”
