Pop Anthem and Animated Stars: Shakira Debuts New Music Video “Zoo” for Disney’s Zootopia 2

A new music video for the original song “Zoo” starring Shakira debuts today, giving fans an exciting look at the upcoming animated adventure, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia 2.”

Shakira returns to voice Zootopia’s biggest pop star, Gazelle, and performs the vibrant new anthem, which she co-wrote and co-produced.

A Blend of Live Action and Animation

The music video, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, is a dynamic mix of live performance and animated footage. Shakira appears in multiple Gazelle and “Zootopia 2”-inspired looks while sharing the screen with beloved characters like Gazelle, Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman). The video also features newcomers, including Gary De’Snake and Nibbles Maplestick.

The video takes viewers through several environments from the film, including the glamorous Zootenial Gala—a celebration of the city’s 100th anniversary—the Zootopia Express as it approaches the metropolis, and even a steep cliffside that Shakira scales alongside Judy and Nick.

Musical and Cinematic Details

The pop anthem “Zoo” was written by Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, and Shakira. Production credits go to Blake Slatkin, Alex (A.C.) Castillo, Shakira, and Ed Sheeran. Fans of collectible music can look forward to “Zoo” being available as a special 7” purple vinyl single.
