“Honestly, I hated it,” Carey replied when asked how she felt about the reality-music show. “It was like going to work every day in Hell with Satan [Nicki Minaj].”

Although she was quick to reassure listeners that she was just kidding with her Satan comment, Carey didn’t apologize for her harsh words about the show. She continued, “It was disappointing when they would, for political reasons, not put people through.”

Carey also revealed details about her newest studio album, saying it is “true to life” and reflects real life issues. “People want to hear the breakup love songs, the ‘I hate you’ love songs, the ‘I used to love you and I can’t get over it, no matter what I do every day of my life forever and ever’.” Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe, are also featured on the album. The “simplistic” record, as Ms. Carey described it, is expected to be released in February.
