D.C.-Native Drops Opulent Visual For Regional Hit
Our Nation’s Capital, most famous musically as the home of Go-go, is increasingly becoming a premier Hip-Hop breeding ground since the national success of its first significant rap artist, Wale. The Double-M Genius has broken down the doors for the District of Columbia and now a new wave of emcee is pouring forth, ready to grab the baton and spread the city’s culture and sound to the masses.
Among them is Shy Glizzy, a Southeast D.C.-native, with a viscid, melodic flow which acts as a disarming conduit for his graphic subject matter. Make no mistake about it: Shy Glizzy represents the gritty streets of his hometown and he endeavors to represent them correctly.
His latest mixtape offering, Young Jefe, has taken on a life of its own, elevating his notoriety and continuing to push the 21-year old rapper to the brink of breakout success.
With the new video for one of the tape’s standout tracks, “Awwsome”, Glizzy looks to capitalize on his momentum and exchange the street lights and projects for palm trees and mansions.
