The Second Coming of Yeezus?
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 that is said to be aired this week, Rick Rubin stated that he is currently working on a new album with Kanye West. The two are currently “looking at vocal ideas” for this new upcoming album that Kanye is working on.
Reflecting on their work on the first Yeezus album Kanye told Rubin that he wanted him to listen to his new album, and Rubin thought that Kanye meant an album that was already finished, but little did Rubin know it was a project that he’s working on right now. “we listened to about three hours of music, most of which didn’t have vocals, and at the end I was like ‘wow, so what’s it gonna be?’ I’m thinking it’s a year away and he was like ‘well, I’m putting it out in like 5-6 weeks'” says Rubin.
Musician, Q-tip has also said that he is working with Rubin on Kanye’s new album. Back in November, Kanye himself said in an interview with radio station Power 99 that he was already working on his next solo album, and is hoping to release it in Summer 2014.
