4 years in the making

Curren$y re-established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the rap game when he released Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk 2–two critically-acclaimed albums almost produced entirely by tenured beatsmith Ski Beatz.  Since then he hasn’t let up, releasing both official LPs (Weekend At Burnie’s, Stoned Immaculate) and free mixtapes (New Jet City, The Drive-In Theatre) that have done nothing but solidify the NOLA rep’s place among the lyrical elite.

Curren$y, also known as Spitta Andretti, has been teasing the third installment of Pilot Talk, Pilot Talk 3, for the better part of two years, but due to legal issues with Dame Dash, who released PT & PT2 on his DD172 label, the progress on the album was pretty stagnant.  However, Curren$y has been hard at work at the album in 2014, which gives us reason to believe that the legal obstacles are behind him, and PT3 will finally see the light of day.  In an interview with HotNewHipHop, Spitta revealed that he’s aiming to finally release the album in October or November, with a lot of production coming from Cool & Dre, and collaborations involving Ab-Soul, French Montana, and more.

Spitta is currently on The Drive-In Theatre tour in support of his latest mixtape of the same name.  On September 20th, he will be performing live at The Barclays Center at The SOURCE360 Concert.  Tickets go on sale on Friday, and can be purchased here.
