The Michael Brown shooting-induced protests in Ferguson, St. Louis have continued over 2 months after the tragic and unjust shooting that claimed the life of the 18-year old unarmed teenager, and the latest headline from the ground in the small Missouri town concerns Cornel West.

West, a well-known and widely respected philosopher, educator, activist and public speaker, has been arrested on the ground in Ferguson while engaging in one of the many protests that go on daily in the embattled region. According to an NBC report, West was knocked down during a scuffle–presumably with authorities–and led off side-by-side a fellow demonstrator. Others were arrested before, and after West.
