When the debate of who is in the lead as this year’s top contender for the prestigious regular season MVP running, you have no choice but to mention Houston Rockets superstar James Harden. Heading into the second half of the season, Harden is leading the NBA in scoring while putting Houston on his back as they are becoming an huge team to look out for come playoff time. In addition, James has been gaining new fans game after game as he brings a new age of style points on the court, giving defenders hell with his unpredictable dribble penetration skills and unstoppable euro step finishes at the basket. Along with that, “Fear The Beard” has added a consistent 3 point shooting attribute to make him even more difficult to guard. If you think this is a lie, just ask Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio. In the closing seconds of the third quarter, Rubio became a victim of being too aggressive on defense while Harden makes him pay by making him look silly in front of a packed crowd in the Toyota Center.
