There’s an unauthorized Beyonce biography that will be available for purchase next week, titled Becoming Beyonce, authored by J. Randy Taraborrelli, in which allegations are made that a rumor that emanated from Rihanna‘s camp split up Jay Z and Beyonce for a year. The rumor was that Jay Z and Rih Rih had hooked up, and according to Taraborrelli’s conversation with Entertainment Tonight, “Beyonce didn’t know what to make of this, and it actually ended up breaking them up for a time. They spent maybe a year apart from each other because Beyonce just wasn’t sure what to make of the situation with Rihanna.”
Naturally, this will re-fuel Elevator-gate truthers that believed all along that Solange’s infamous attack on Jay Z in a Met Gala elevator had to do with Mr. Carter wishing to attend a Rihanna event post-Met Gala, and Beyonce taking issue with it. Taraborrelli’s take on this? Beyonce told Jay that he couldn’t attend, and “It was a whispered married couple’s argument that would’ve gone completely unnoticed had Solange not overheard it.”
