Cee-Lo Green Talks About His Role in the New Claymation Video for Cool Uncle’s “Mercy”

Soul legend Bobby Caldwell and celebrated producer Jack Splash joined forces after a chance connection via Facebook last year. The duo, collectively known as Cool Uncle, have put together a self-titled album brimming with funk, pop, smooth jazz, R&B, and soft rock. Cool Uncle features several guest spots, including Jessie Ware on “Breakaway,” former ’80s-pop-star Deniece Williams on “Breaking Up” and Cee-Lo Green on “Mercy.”

Cool Uncle has shared a claymation video for their ballad “Mercy,” which features the former Goodie Mob rapper. The three are portrayed behind bars at a zoo, performing the song for animals passing by, including a panda whom Cee Lo apparently admires a little bit too much.

“Jack Splash is a long time collaborator and I consider him family so when presented with the opportunity to work with legend Bobby Caldwell I didn’t hesitate,” Cee Lo tells The Source. “Not to mention the sweet sincerity of this song and video is a touching and tender moment. This is the music that will help you remember we are missing.”
