It’s been quite awhile since we last heard from the rhythm and blues sensation Maxwell, about seven years to be exact. We’ve been managing the withdrawals from his old tunes that still serenade the soul.
Today [Friday, May 27] Maxwell put an end to his musical drought with a newly released visual for his new single titled, “Lake By The Ocean.” The video takes place in a Spanish speaking village that features an Afro-Latina woman who wanders into a cafe that Maxwell is performing in. Maxwell’s performance has her mesmerized as it seems he is speaking to her directly, singing her life and all she dreams it will become.
“Love By The Ocean” is another Maxwell anthem that will define so many love moments and the memories they bring. On July 1 Maxwell will be releasing his fifth studio album titled blackSUMMERS’night, which is the second part of his scheduled trilogy of albums. Maxwell is also set to perform at this summer’s annual Essence Festival in New Orleans.
