Since he made his formal debut in 2013 with the Owl Pharoah mixtape, Travi$ Scott has been compared to no veteran artist more than he’s been compared to Kid Cudi. Cudi, a man instrumental in successfully ushering in mainstream rap’s post-verbal era, is Travi$ Scott’s idol, predecessor and former labelmate. Back in September of last year, when Cudi shouted out Scott and endorsed his debut album, Rodeo, Scott launched a jubilant Twitter rant and promised to personally send Cudi one of his rare Rodeo action figures. Needless to say, whenever these two hooked up, headlines would be made.

That time appears to be now. A day after promising two studio albums in 2016, Kid Cudi revealed on Twitter that the only guest feature he’s lined up so far this year is one from Travi$ Scott. A photo of the two in the studio together leaked out shortly after, and thus, anticipation was born. It’s unclear which two albums Cudi plans on dropping this year–so far we know he’s working on Man on the Moon III–but the prospect of young Travi$ being on one of them is pleasing to say the least.
