The BET Network presented its fans with the very first BET Awards in 2001. Ever since the birth of the awards show, BET has been honoring artists and musicians that have paved the way in music. BET has honored legends such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Patti Labelle, Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire and the list continues. In light of the 2016 BET Awards and its Prince tribute (plus a tribute to Muhammad Ali) let’s revisit how BET pays homage to our most beloved musicians.
