2017 is the year of Cardi B! With her birthday today, she has so much to be grateful for! She’s 25 now and has accomplished more than artists in their 30s all while staying true to herself.
At last night’s BET’s Hip Hop Awards, Belcalis Almanzar (Cardi B) snagged three awards: Hustler of the Year, Best New Hip Hop Artist and Single of the Year. She broke the record of the longest #1 Billboard 100 single held by a female with no features for three weeks and still going.
Cardi B is the definition of a Cinderella story. Growing up in the Bronx and working as a stripper to make money, she used social media to express thoughts others were too afraid to speak about. If you’re truly a fan and part of the #BardiGang then you’ll know that she started on Vine, made her way to Instagram and became Instafamous. This led her to be on Love and Hip Hop New York for two seasons. She left the show to pursue her passion of music. She also played the character Mercedes on an episode of Being Mary Jane. Now Cardi is signed to Atlantic Records, performing at the Video Music Awards and the Hip Hop Awards this year and collecting those coins.
