Dallas traffic reporter Demetria Obilor is fighting fire with friendliness after she was body shamed by for being “a size 16/18 woman in a size six dress.”
A woman by the name of Jan Shedd, according to a screen shot, wrote a scathing Facebook post about Obilor. “She looks ridiculous,” the screenshot shows. “I understand that when I watch Channel 8 I’m going to get biased reporting and political correctness, but clearly they have taken complete leave of their senses.”

What followed was an out pour of support from users on Twitter, including multi-time Grammy-winner Chance the Rapper and “The View” co-host Meghan McCain.

Thank you @DemetriaObilor for speaking out against body shaming – it's a sick part of our culture. You're absolutely gorgeous.

Obilor addressed her critics and her supporters in a Twitter video on Friday. “This is the way that I’m built, this is the way that I was born, I’m not going anywhere,” she proudly stated. “So if you don’t like it, you have your options.”
Continuing, “Now to the people who showed love, I love you right back.”
