Cardi B hit her hometown of New York City to hand out free winter coats and shoes. The “I Like It” hitmaker visited public housing complex in Brooklyn to provide support to residents in the area with cold weather essentials.
Cardi was welcomed by a crowd of community members who waited outside of the Marlboro Homes. The event that was put on by a local designer and friends that are close to the rapper. Items were donated with help from Trax NYC, Daniel’s Leather and NY Tent sale.
“I didn’t know it was gonna be so big,” Cardi B told an ABC affiliate. “My home boy Chuck, he told me, ‘Hey, let’s give out coats to our community, I know somebody who wants to give out coats in Marlboro,’ and I said, ‘I’m pulling out, what’s up?'”
The items were just in time for a frigid weekend where temperatures are believed to drop below the 40 degrees temperature that was felt during the giveaway.
