Dana Lixenberg lives and works in her native Amsterdam and New York. She studied photography at the London College of Printing (1984- 1986) and at the gerrit Rietveid Academie in Amsterdam (1987- 1989). She was awarded a project grant by the Fonds BKVB for a her 1993 series of portraits at the Imperial Courts Housing Project in Watts, Los Angles, CA. Â She has worked with a variety of magazines such as The New Yorker, the New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, and Vibe.
