Last night, Law & Order: SVU broadcasted their episode inspired by Chris & Rihanna’s relationship.

The episode starts off with superstar musicians, Mischa (inspired by Rihanna) & Caleb (inspired by Chris Brown), in the studio recording a duet they were planning to release. The couple was in the studio, being lovey dovey but all that changed in a few minutes when Mischa walked in the engineer room and saw Caleb touching & flirting with another girl. She approached them saying “I can’t leave you alone for 5 minutes without you getting trashy?” He responds with “Who you steppin to?” which leads to him mushing her in the forehead & pushing her head into his crotch…

While trying to get up, she accidentally hits him in the lip, leading him to push her on the floor, then beats & chokes her.

Just like in the real world, of course the blogs get a hold of the photos. While discussing the case & how they would go about it, they visit Perez Hilton’s site & one of the detectives say “They should go on a double date with Chris Brown & Rihanna”.

The controversial episode titled “Funny Valentine” (while having nothing to do with valentines…) had many clear indications to make sure you didn’t forget who the episode was based on. Take for instance Caleb, who didn’t act or look like Chris, but was tall, light skinned & had the same initials. The Caleb character came off very arrogant and rude during the episode, which makes me wonder if that’s how the SVU directors want the rest of the world to view Chris Brown. Caleb, like Chris, took to a popular television show to apologize to their battered lover wearing nearly the same outfit. There were other subtle similarities that only social media savvy fans would understand; while leaving court, Caleb exposed a tattoo of Mischa’s battered face (there was speculation on whether a new tattoo or Brown’s was the same of Rihanna’s) & early in the episode when Mischa approached Caleb and another girl, she calls her “beef cookie” whereas on Twitter everyone knows Rihanna called Chris’ previous girlfriend Karreuche “rice cake.  And I definitely can’t leave out how familiar it was that Mischa’s post-beatdown photo was “leaked” to the Internet & made front page of the New York Post.

The episode also made a valid point regarding stereotypes highlighting that the case wouldn’t be so publicized if it were between opera singers rather involving a hip hop artist.

The episode ends with Caleb & Mischa going on vacation together but while on their yacht, she innocently asked him who he was texting & he replied, “Haven’t you learned to mind your business?!” The camera cuts back to the detectives watching a news story focusing on the death of the young singer whose body was found floating in the ocean near the yacht.

The Law & Order: SVU writers are clearly trying to send some kind of message to Rihanna & Chris Brown, who just recently made a public statement about the couple officially being back together. In my opinion, they pushed the envelope a little bit with the murder, but then a,gain it wouldn’t be Law & Order without it. And the horrible acting didn’t help anything. Perhaps the vision I had of how the episode would be was totally off.
