Despite its critical acclaim, Wale’s debut album Attention Deficit was grossly mishandled by Interscope Records, prompting Wale to change career direction and make Rick Ross’ then fledgling MMG imprint his launch pad. A gold album (Ambition) and Grammy nomination later, Wale is prepped to make The Gifted his metaphorical flag on the moon, and make it very clear to the world that he is a force to be reckoned with in the rap game, if that wasn’t already the general consensus. With his “Bad” single reaching Top 40 status on Billboard months before the release of the LP, it seems as if Wale’s well on his way to doing so.
