The Spider wants redemption
Good call Dana White, following his loss to Chris Weidman on Saturday night Anderson Silva was speaking about life outside the cage. Today a source close to Silva revealed that Silva is in fact seeking a rematch with the current middleweight champ. Matter of fact Silva changed his tune hours after the fight, wishing the rematch was this week. Before Silva admitted he wanted a rematch Dana White predicted that Silva would want one once the sting of defeat settled in again.
UFC fans are calling for a fix in the first fight because Dana White and Anderson Silva both mentioned before the fight that if he (Silva) lost, the next fight would be a Weidman/Silva rematch. I highly doubt there was a fix for this fight, but keeping his word we will get a rematch.
A likely date for this rematch would be December of 2013 or Superbowl weekend in 2014. White has showed interest in having a UFC fight in New Jersey the Saturday before the Superbowl.
Odds makers in Vegas already have Silva as the favorite going in to that fight.
