Ten Baseball Players Who Broke Our Hearts By Using Steroids

Sammy Sosa
Sammy Sosa

“Slammin Sammy” became a legend and a hero in Chicago. He did the unthinkable: brought the Cubs to playoffs. Looking over his numbers, it doesn’t seem humanely possible. Three seasons with over 60 homeruns, a career batting average of .273, and over 1,667 runs batted in. It’s close to godly.

Technically, Sosa was never caught with steroids nor did he ever admit to it. However, it would be impossible for all of his contemporaries to be under suspicion of using growth hormones and Sosa’s name not to be brought up. So, Cub faithfuls might not be truly heartbroken, but the truth always has a way of making itself known.
