Fashion Week Highlight: Toure Designs Presentation

A vibrant young crowd set the tone at the Toure Design’s SS14 show, amongst the group was “Love and Hip-Hop” star Tahiry Jose, rapper Joe Budden and Po Johnson. Performances by Vera Maxwell and singer Maad Moiselle got the crowd excited. The show started off with a drum presentation that went perfectly with the inspiration of the collection.

Celebrity designer Alhassan Toure’s Spring 14’ collection was a mash up of modern and traditional African inspired prints. Showing both menswear and women’s; there was an abundance of printed cropped bomber jackets, drawstring jogger pants and leather detailing. Standout pieces included a black embossed leather jacket and pull over sweater for men. Toure is a celebrity custom designer from Ghana who lives in NYC and has worked with Raekwon, Usher, Wiz Khalifa, Redman Young Jeezy, Roscoe Dash, Method Man, and Ghostface Killa to name a few.

Other sighting: Prabal Gurung threw another epic Fashion Week Party. Ciara treated guests to a fun live performances. The SVEDKA-sponsored Prabal Gurung After Party was held on Saturday, September 7th in the Meatpacking district. Guests sipped on speciality SVEDKA cocktails and danced to a special performance by Ciara, which included her new hit Body Party. Earlier in the day Ciara sat front row at his presentation.
