After two years in the lab with Aftermath producer Dr. Dre, Eminem dropped his debut album The Slim Shady LP in 1999 with his first hit “My Name Is.” The album went platinum selling over three million copies. In 2000, Em also received two Grammys and four MTV Music Video Awards from the LP. On top of his new success, the rapper also founded his label Shady Records that year with his manager Paul Rosenburg.
