1. Tonya Harding vs. Nancy Kerrigan
In 1994, the Winter Olympics was bombarded with drama in the ice rink. Right before the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, Tonya Harding’s ex-husband and bodyguard hired someone to injure Nancy Kerrigan. Though her leg wasn’t broken, it was bad enough for her to pull out of the competition. Tonya Harding was crowned as the winner and both were chosen to go onto to the Winter games. Once the attack went public, Harding’s involvement was revealed and ended up costing her career in professional figure skating.
