What else would attract the Olympic games to Utah? The Salt Lake City Olympic organizing committee was discovered to be flat out bribing the International Olympic Committee and their relatives with scholarships, exclusive medical treatment and more. Even though the plot was revealed in 1998, Salt Lake City still held the 2002 Winter games. Eventually, four members of the IOC resigned, six were expelled and nine were given warnings.
