4. Terrorists Attack Munich Games
The history of terrorism at the Olympic games dates back as far as the early 1970’s. During the 1972 games in Munich, Black September, a Palestinian military group, invaded the Olympic village and kidnapped nine Israeli athletes. After the attempted rescue mission failed, all nine athletes died in a shootout between the terrorist and German police.
