6. Greg Louganis’ diving incident
The Seoul Olympics in 1988 also had another iconic moment. American diver Greg Louganis hit his head on the springboard in an attempt to pull a reverse two-and-a-half pike. He had a major concussion and got stitches, but was able to get back up and scored the highest in the preliminaries. However because of the bloodshed from the injury, Louganis was forced to reveal he was HIV positive.
