10. Have Your Emotions In Check – Prepare To Finish Extremely Happy Or Violently Heartbroken
If you’re a true college basketball fan, you know what you’re getting yourself into. With the exception of 1 seeds vs 16 seeds, all bets are off in the NCAA Tournament.
Lehigh’s 15 seed victory over the heavy favorite 2 seed Duke Blue Devils in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament showed us that epic upsets are possible. This isn’t the NBA where guys are making millions of dollars and everything will be ok if they take a loss in the first round. This is all or nothing. History is on the line for seniors with one last shot to shock the world.
If you’re the fan of a high seed, don’t relax. Don’t ever go into these games too confident because you might end up caught on national TV like this lady to the right after a big upset. Be prepared for heartbreak because all it takes is an underdog showing up more prepared than your squad. They just might send you and your entire University home with your heart sinked into the floor.
If you’re the fan of an underdog or a lower seed, BELIEVE. Your squad is here to make history. Root them on and know that your time is now. It’s called March Madness because truly anything can happen.
