2. Prepare For Selection Sunday
Selection Sunday is the day when the NCAA committee evaluates the entire landscape of college basketball as they decide which 68 teams will make the NCAA Tournament. Following the conclusion of all conference championship games, the committee reviews all 346 teams across all 32 conferences and evaluates their records, strength of schedule, wins over ranked opponents and significant victories and losses.
Of the 68 teams that make it, eight teams will be placed on the outside of the 64 team bracket to face off in play-in games. There is always a lot of controversy around the last four teams selected because each team within the 55-75 range believes they can make a strong case for their team belonging in the big dance.
Each squad that makes it to the dance will receive a seed from 1-16, with four different 16 team brackets. The four 1 seeds will be placed in locations dedicated to the East, South, Midwest and West. One seeds will be awarded to the teams with the best overall regular season resume and will be placed at NCAA Tournament sites based on their 1 seed ranking.
The 1 seed will be the team that everyone in their bracket will gun for. Each team will have to fight to make it through their March Madness gauntlet if they hope to make it to the Final Four in North Texas. The Selection Sunday show will air on March 16th at 6 pm so make sure you have your bracket printed out and are ready to go!
