This is…different

The Sacramento Kings’ Demarcus Cousins, former first round pick out of the University of Kentucky, has added an interesting twist to his career, as a video has surfaced promoting his newest venture–an R&B album.

Despite Cousins having a career year–the near 7-foot center is averaging roughly 22 points and 12 rebounds per game–his team, the Sacramento Kings, reside in the cellar of the Western Conference at 25-48, with mathematically no hope at making the playoffs. It appears Cousins has chosen to focus on other things to take his mind off the King’s lackluster season.

The video implies that Cousins’ upcoming R&B album, Misunderstood, isn’t a joke. With appearances from radio personality DJ Franzen and producer Mally Mal, the short clip also declares Cousins’ first single will be produced by Chase N. Cashe and feature Chance The Rapper. That’s enough to make anybody take your music seriously. Justin Bieber being a part of the project was mentioned by Mal, and Cousins is in the promotional clip playing the piano in full-on soulful R&B mode, so we’ll see just how far this goes.
