The backlash begins.
Earlier today, news broke via a TMZ report that the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, who are currently in the midst of a tenacious first round series with the Golden State Warriors–which continues tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET–made some extremely racist comments. You can check out the full story here, but during the 9-minute conversation Donald Sterling had with his Hispanic girlfriend, he scolded her for posting a picture she took with Magic Johnson to her Instagram and “publicly admiring” people of minority races.
It’s some pretty horrific stuff.
Today, Magic Johnson responded to the story on Twitter, and he sounded as irate as one would expect him to be.
TMZ reported this morning that Clippers owner Donald Sterling doesn’t want me or other African-Americans to come to Clippers games.

.@cjbycookie and I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner.

I feel sorry for my friends Coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul that they have to work for a man that feels that way about African Americans.

LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s comments about African Americans are a black eye for the NBA.

Shortly after, Snoop Dogg sent out a video message to Sterling on his Instagram account:
“A message to the motherf*cker that owns the Clippers…”

Last but not least, politics and sports analyst Keith Olbermann took an interesting angle on the situation, saying the Clippers players and coaches should not suit up for tomorrow’s game until the NBA stepped in and took corrective action.
If #Clippers actually refused to play, NBA would defer to them immediately. Can’t be seen defending Sterling. Can’t not deliver games to tv
