The Rockets signed Trevor Ariza yesterday which made Parsons expendable. Houston had a player option on Parsons for the 2014-15 season, but declined their option on Parsons so that Parsons could become a restricted free agent this offseason as opposed to becoming an unrestricted free agent last offseason.

A 6-9 small forward in his third season out of Florida, Parsons averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Houston Rockets this season.
