News out of our Nation’s Capital early Sunday morning indicated that Paul Pierce agreed to a two-year deal with the Washington Wizards. The deal was reportedly worth $11 million, with the first year guaranteed and a second year player option.

Upon the signing with the Wizards, Pierce tweeted: “Obama, J Wall here I come.”

Meanwhile, in Nets-Land, folks were left wondering if Kevin Garnett, Pierce’s close friend and former teammate in Boston dating back to their championship days in 2008, was ready to call it quits.

According to ESPN The Magazine’s Chris Broussard, Garnett is “excited” about joining the Nets.

As per ESPN New York’s Mike Mazzeo: Garnett has yet to publicly announce that he’s playing this season, but all indications continue to point that way. On Saturday, a league source told ESPNNewYork.com that the Nets still expect Garnett to return.

Entering his 20th season in the NBA, Garnett is due $12 million in the last year of his contract.
