She had the type of love life that women wanted to have, but couldn’t. Even though, she was a minor at the time, there were reports that she established a relationship with her mentor/singer R.Kelly. A marriage certificate surfaced. She apparently lied about her age to marry Kelly, but they both denied it and officially parted ways. One year before her death, she started dating hip hop mogul Damon Dash, who is the cousin of actress Stacey Dash and had plans to get married but he never got the chance to be with his love.
