Blake Griffin has been the focal point of basketball and general news headlines for the past few months, and for good reason. In the midst of the best season of his career, former Clippers owner Donald Sterling‘s bombshell racist rants leaked to TMZ, then the rest of the world, and he, Chris Paul, and their teammates immediately fell under the microscope. A few weeks ago, Blake graced the cover of GQ Magazine, and told Conan O’ Brian about the “white” parties Sterling used to drag him to, and through. Outside of that, he has  comedy series with his good friend and teammate, Chris Paul, on Cartoon Network, and the Clippers have to capitalize on a quickly closing championship window, now that the 2014-2015 season is underway.

So, the occasional public crumble? Understandable. Blake will have to face the law with this one though. While in Vegas, Blake Griffin was allegedly annoyed by several camera flashes in his face, and reacted by grabbing the phone and neck of a man named Daniel Schuman at TAO Nightclub. Misdemeanor battery charges are punishable by up to 6 months in prison or a fine of $1,000 fine. Griffin’s court date is December 8.
