Silver is for commentary, just not on the court

Adam Silver is a relatively new NBA Commisisioner that’s had a massive load of work to do in his first year on the job. After successfully navigating the Donald Sterling mess and negotiating an extremely lucrative TV contract for the league, Silver is now faced with several NBA players–and not just your run of the mill 2nd round picks. Full-fledged NBA superstars–taking to the court prior to games to express their discontent with the Eric Garner decision via “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirts. First, it was Derrick Rose. Several players in tonight’s marquee Nets VS Cavs match-up, including LeBron James, have followed suit, and one would imagine that it will be a trend that will spread throughout the rest of the NBA at least for the next couple weeks once more players get their hands on the apparel.

In light of these recent events, Adam Silver commented to Yahoo! Sports on how he felt about the situation, and he had this to say about it.

I respect Derrick Rose and all of our players for voicing their personal views on important issues, but my preference would be for players to abide by our on-court attire rules.
