Of course it happened in Florida. Floridians may not be all that smart, but at least they’re honest.
Twenty five year old Robert Phillips was arrested in Palm Beach County this past week on Tuesday when authorities allegedly apprehended him driving a stolen vehicle. He was found with heroin and crack cocaine in his possession, and the police report notes that he ever so earnestly told police that his occupation was a “drug dealer.”
Phillips certainly had the evidence to prove it. The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office found 22 grams of heroin and $2,316 in cash on him, placed in several “dealer folds.”
The honest, but stupid, criminal was busted after he cut off a police officer on I-95. The officer ran the vehicle’s registration, and discovered it was stolen.
The officer then followed Phillips, who stopped at an arts and crafts store, stopping in between to work–and by work, we mean conduct a drug deal, per the officer’s police report. When the officer tried to stop Phillips, Phillips ran through the store, knocking down a female patron and dropping a semi-automatic handgun.
Once the police eventually apprehended him, they further found more than 5 grams of crack cocaine, a drug scale, multiple hypodermic needles, empty prescription bottles and a container with a hidden compartment.
Mr. Phillips has previous convictions on gun, cocaine, and aggravated assault charges. This time, however, he was charged with drug and gun-possession charges, and is booked on a $242,000 bail.
