Presidential candidate, Ben Carson has been known to not bite his tongue. The Baltimore surgeon went on CNN‘s “New Day” segment on Wednesday after announcing that he will be entering the 2016 Presidential race as a Republican. While discussing same sex marriage, CNN news anchor Chris Cuomo asked Carson if he believed that people have control over homosexuality.
“Absolutely,” Carson began his argument, “Because a lot of people who go into prison — go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay. So did something happen while they were in there?”
After making the comment, Carson went on to continue to say that no matter a person’s sexual preference, they should be granted the same legal rights without having to tack on the word “marriage.”
Can this be true? Is homosexuality a choice in prison for survival or is Ben Carson just trying to cause a stir for his campaign?
