Well, okay.
So you’re probably asking why Kim Kardashian West is on the cover of Variety magazine”s “Power of Women” issue. Well, Variety considers Kim to be one of five women who made the cut that “are using their clout to bring attention to worthy causes.” The selfie queen actually has a cause that she is very dedicated to, and that’s helping sick children:
Kim Kardashian West started to work with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles seven years ago, after a friend’s child got sick. She not only donates proceeds from her eBay auction store to the nonprofit, but she also carves out time to regularly visit patients and their parents, especially during the holidays.
Cancer is something that affects many people and Mrs. West is no different. Her father, Robert Kardashian, died of the disease in 2003. For that reason, she volunteers her time and brings along her siblings, and even her husband, Kanye West. She brings the patients gifts, paints their nails, and even takes selfies with them.
“My father passed away from cancer,” says Kardashian West, who lost her dad, Robert, in 2003. “I remember what it was like when my dad was going through it. You see the kids that are so strong. They feel so helpless. You want to do anything to help them.”
The other “Women of Power” honorees: Whoopi Goldberg, Rachel Weisz, Glen Close, and Lena Dunham.
