This so-cal and nor-cal festival will feature a lineup of legendary rappers and hip hop artists.
Ice T announced the line up for the “Art Of Rap Music Festival” during the 93.5 KDAY’s Krush Groove Concert, at which he received the first KDAY Honorz Award. Co-created by Ice T and Mickey Bentson and Inspired by Ice T’s documentary of the same name “The Art of Rap,” the festival will include legends such as The Game, Bone Thugs -N- Harmony, Ice T, Afrika Bambaataa and The Soulsonic Force, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Mack 10, Xzibit, Warren G, Rapper’s Delight, Kurtis Blow, Too Short, Doug E Fresh, DJ Quik, Kool Moe Dee, King T, Grand Master Melle Mel, Tha Alkaholiks, Biz Markie, Slick Rick, EPMD, Cold Crush Brothers, Ras Kass and Chief Rocker Busy Bee will be MCing the festival.
Ice T has called hip-hop “the most powerful and influential cultural movement since rock & roll. A true art form that deserves respect,” and co-founder of The Universal Zulu Nation, Mickey Bentson added, “Hip-Hop is crucial to many peoples’ lives and the Art Of Rap is the true game of hip-hop! Zulu Nation forever!” The Festival will include 2 stages and over 25 of hip hop’s legendary artists as well as break-dancers, live graffiti artists, vendors and an interactive festival area. The first “Art of Rap” festival will be July 18 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California. The second half of the festival will be July 19 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. Tickets are now available here.
