If you ain’t know, now you know.
If you’ve been paying attention to hip hop at all then you would have heard of Boston’s own, Cousin Stizz. It’s probable you heard about him from his amazing song “No Bells“, but recently he released his full project. The tape is called Suffolk County, and it really goes along with exactly what you would expect from Stizz’s sound.
So many artists have the issue of being the “one hit wonder.” We’ve seen it happen time and time again where an artist has a massive hit that is relevant for a few months only to never hear from the artist again. Thankfully, that isn’t the case with Coustin Stizz. His song “Shoutout” last summer became an anthem for the city of Boston, and went on to become a national scale song. He exceeded all expectations with this project because of amazing production, great hooks, and obviously the way he’s able to tell a story in his rhymes.
Hip hop artists have been telling us about their lives on the beat for decades now. There are some artists that are just better at telling those stories, and on Suffolk County, we can see that Stizz is one of them.
