A brighter side to the current perception of NY’s “finest”
The past few days have been huge for gay people nationwide, and this tidbit is a sampling of the unity it’s helped to promote. On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court decided by a majority decision of 5-4 that same-sex marriage will be legal nationwide, overruling all individual states’ rules. This weekend, NYC held its annual Gay Pride Festival, which is always a defining moment in LGBTQ culture, and via cell phone footage, we have a pretty awesome video clip of a cop and a festival participant dancing together–the cop was actually twerking on the guy–in the middle of the festival.
It’s refreshing to see this captured on someone’s iPhone video, and not something synonymous with the acts we’re used to seeing from cops in these sorts of viral videos.
