It’s always a show whenever Floyd Mayweather steps into the ring. It’ll be no different this evening when Pretty Boy Floyd steps into the ring with former welterweight titlist Andre Berto in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tonight’s main event with Berto, is the final bout of a record six-fight deal that Mayweather signed with Showtime/CBS in 2013. Although not likely, Mayweather has contended that this evening will be his last. He has long maintained that he would retire. Coming off a win this past May over Manny Pacquiao, at 48-0, if Mayweather were to win this evening, he’d match Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 record.
Mayweather hand picked a solid opponent to handily attempt to match Marciano’s record in Andre Berto. The odds are in Mayweather’s favor. TopBet.eu has Mayweather pegged as the victor in tonight’s fight. A major underdog in this fight, Berto is coming off of victories over Steve Chambers and Josesito Lopez. Once looked at as a budding star in boxing before constant shoulder injuries, the 30-3 Berto has had some solid victories in his career. The former welterweight champ has won bouts with Steve Forbes, Juan Urango, Luis Collazo and Carlos Quintana, but has gone 2-2 in his last four appearances in the ring.
Mayweather and Berto goes down tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
