Denver Broncos CB Aqib Talib Suspended 1 Game After Poking Colts Dwayne Allen In The Eye

Sunday’s matchup pitting Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos against his former team the Indianapolis Colts came down to the wire as the two teams seemed to be headed into overtime sitting tied up at 24-24. Things got a bit hazy during the final drive of the game when Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib poked Colts tight end Dwayne Allen in the eye following a play.

The incident yielded a flag from the referees which gifted the Colts more yards giving them a better shot at the kick which eventually won them the game. During the post game press conference, Talib stated that the eye poke was not intentional and he was looking to push Allen during a skirmish with one of his teammates. According to him, Allen moved his head and he accidentally poked him in the eye.

The NFL was not sold on the explanation and slammed Talib with a one game suspension. So not only did his actions give his team their first loss of the season but the pro bowl corner won’t be able to help his team next week.
