ICYMI: The Most Interesting Innovations From CES 2016

Over the past week, 3,800 exhibitors from over 150 countries revealed their latest technology to more than 170,000 industry professionals at the 2016 CES convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As a platform for all industries with representation from around the globe, CES offers a glimpse into the technology that will take us into this year and beyond.

“CES is the one place where expanding global innovation, the technology community and government can join and showcase a better future for us all,” said John Penny, chief strategy officer, Starz.

500 new start ups were present this year along with industry veterans, meaning it would be impossible to list everything. Below are some of the more interesting innovations from this year’s convention.

The Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headset

A virtual reality head-mounted display headset offering consumers a resolution of 1080×1200 per eye, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a wide field of view.

BACtrack Mobile Breathalyzer
The breathalyzer, which can not only read your blood alcohol level, but also give you an estimate as to when you’ll sober up, is now able to read levels remotely. The feature, called BACtrack View allows you to request a breath test from someone else.
